Display RCS and radiation pattern. The results are presented as functions of the frequency, the phi angle or the theta angle.
Note : in the current version, this tool applies only on far field patterns (radiation and RCS).
Parameters :
The first field allows the user to chose the parameter to display.
In the case of an RCS result, several parameters are available :
VH and HV are also called cross polarization.
In the case of a radiation pattern, there are several results :
The expert's tip :
Polar Z and Polar S are useful to display the cross polarization in some case, like for example here.
Note : the vertical component is also called the theta component and the horizontal component is also called the phi component.
Add to graph :
to view different results on the same graph. The color will be different. If it is unchecked, all previous displays will be cleared and a new graph will be created.
Log Scale :
for values in dBm˛ (or in m˛ if unchecked) for RCS.
or
for values in dB for radiation patterns. In that case, the displayed far field is normalized with the peak total value. This normalization is done independently for each frequency. The displayed result is a power (square value of the electric far field).
Note : the dB value of a parameter is defined as 10*log10 applied to the parameter.
Frequency :
If you have several value you can choose a particular step with the scale.
If you check it, the frequency values will be on abscissa.
Phi :
If you have several value you can choose a particular step with the scale.
If you check it, the phi values will be on abscissa.
Theta :
If you have several value you can choose a particular step with the scale.
If you check it, the theta values will be on abscissa.
Axis :
You can change the range of the graph's axis and the number of division for each axis.
Example of display :
The expert's tip :
If you want to use your favorite plotting software, you can find the same results in the far_field_Eteta_phi.txt file (radiation pattern) or in the rcs.txt file (radar cross section).
